FAWA’s corporate networking events facilitate interaction between business-minded students and leading industry professionals. Our corporate networking opportunities are held year-round and provide a forum for students to educate themselves about opportunities in the finance field.
FAWA hosts its annual Business Breakfast in mid to late March.
Since its inception in 2013, the event has grown tremendously and is now attended by over 120 students and industry representatives each year. Firms that have attended in the past include Azure Capital, BCG, Bain & Co., BHP Billiton, McKinsey & Co., Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Citi, UBS, Macquarie, BDO, Wesfarmers, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Argonaut and many others.
The bespoke networking breakfast provides students with practical tips on how to navigate a successful career within the financial services industry, as well as gain pragmatic advice on recruitment.
Our exclusive annual networking event for high-achieving students has grown into the largest networking event for students at UWA.
The evening will begins with a panel discussion featuring successful women and men in business. They will share their experiences working in diverse corporate environments, as well as their career progression and success stories.
This is followed by a rare networking opportunity with a vast variety of female representatives from firms involved in investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, corporate strategy and accounting.
The events continued success has see it grow to combine over 100 high-achieving female students and leading industry professionals.
The event is run in second semester.
In 2015, Azure and FAWA introduced the Future Corporate Leaders Series Event. The event focused on “Beating the odds; success stories of WA entrepreneurs” and involved a Q&A panel discussion hosted by John Poynton.
Students were encouraged to participate in the panel discussion, with topics including career perspectives and objectives, strategies to manage rapidly changing business environments and potential new growth industries.
