About

The Finance Association of Western Australia (FAWA) was founded in 2009 at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and has quickly grown into one of the most established and recognised student run organisations at the university. In 2010, FAWA was awarded the honour of ‘Best New Club’ and has since developed a strong membership base of over 1000 students as well as an expansive number of alumni and an extensive professional network.

As an independent student body, FAWA aims to enable UWA students from a multitude of disciplines to engage, develop and express their interest in finance and business outside the boundaries of the formal university curriculum. FAWA provides a conduit through which motivated students can further advance their passion for commerce whilst developing the requisite core skills for their future careers as young professionals in the business arena.

At FAWA, we pride ourselves on our professionalism and drive. We aim to become the most active finance and business related club in Australia in developing the professional skills and employability of our members.

Objectives

• To cultivate a forum for interaction between students who share an interest in finance and the corporate sector
• To support our members in developing the professional skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the business arena
• To provide our members with insights into the various career opportunities available in banking, finance and business related areas
• To offer our members various opportunities to gain industry exposure
• To promote networking between our members and industry professionals
• To inform our members about further education opportunities outside of the formal university curriculum
